  • What is systems account and what is it used for?

    • Computer profile account consists of username and password and it lets you using the following services with it:

    Malware, short for malicious software, is any software used to disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information, or gain access to private computer systems. You can protect yourself from Malware by having an active up-to-date antivirus software and regularly scanning your computer for infections.

  • Where can I get IT support in person?

    There are two IT Help Desks located at either building of the University.

    Administration building (AB1-33b): Located on the basement 1 of the Administration building opposite the Student Services Office.

    Academic Building: Located on the ground floor of the Academic building near the entrance.

  • Where should I save my work?

    AUIS recommends saving your work on your allocated “Z” drive found on “My Computer” or “Computer”. This is the most secure way of saving your data as it is backed up regularly on our central servers.

    It is also recommended that you save a copy of your data on a USB Flash drive and in cloud such as Google Drive, OneDrive & Dropbox.

    AUIS email accounts currently support up to 25MB file size attachments. If your file is larger, you can use cloud services such as Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive to send your files.

IT Department at AUIS offers a variety of services to its Staff & Faculty members. This page provides you with the necessary information in order to take advantage of the services our department has to offer.

IT Department at AUIS offers certain services to its visitors and short stay guests. These services include wireless internet and in some cases other IT assets such as laptop computers in the discretion of the host department.

The IT Service Desk team are here to help you with any queries you may have about using IT at AUIS. If you have a request or require assistance you can contact the team using one of the methods below:

There are many ways in which you can request our services.

Exam Request Form: This form should be used by faculty members prior to any computer based exams they have in the computer labs or classrooms. It is essential that this form is filled out in advance so that all the teacher requirements are dealt with prior to the exam.

IT Department recommends that you fill out this form at least 48 hours prior to the start of your exam.

Website Allowance Request Form: This form should be used by faculty and staff memebrs to submit a request for a blocked website to be allowed, with valid justification.

Moodle Course Request Form: This form should be used by faculty memebrs who wish to create courses on the AUIS Learning Management System, Moodle. By using this form, faculties can request courses to be visible on Moodle.

Software Request Form (Staff/Faculty laptops): Staff/Faculty members who wish to install additional software on their University given laptops for official university work related purposes are required to fill out our online Software Request Form (SRF) with the details of their request at least 3 days prior to the installation.

Any software requested will be checked for compatibility issues against our system and scanned for any malware and sent for director's approval before it can be installed on your machine.

Software Request Form - Lab & Classroom computers: Faculty members who wish to install any additional software on the lab computers must fill out our online Software Request Form (SRF) at least 2 weeks prior to the required date needed as it may take a while for certain software to be deployed on all the lab machines depending on the size of the lab and the complexity of the requested software. 

Compatibility and licensing issues may sometimes play a big role in preventing us from processing your requests. You will be informed prior if any of those become an issue.
