At the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani - newly admitted students are offered IT orientataion sessions in order to get familiar with the IT systems as well as receiving their user credentials to gain access to the online services offered at the University. IT orientations are offered different ways such as;
- In-person IT Orientation: A group orientation in one of the campus computer labs taught by an IT specialist. (Unless prevented by a legitimate reason, the in-person IT orientation is the most effective way to get familiar with the IT systems)
- Virtual IT Orientation: Set of recorded video tutoials and guidelines for newly admitted students to get familiar with the IT systems and activate their user accounts to gain access to services offered.
